Level Strategies

This is one of the longest levels in Mario Forever, and as a consequence, the biggest threat of the level is the timer, which is still 360 like any regular level. In addition to the scarce limited time, the player has to face a wave of lethal enemies. About half of the enemies can shoot deadly projectiles. Fortunately, the author had the generosity to add a secret area that stores 5 "?" blocks concealing 1-UP mushrooms, fairly close to the beginning of the stage. In order to get there, the player will need to climb their way up to the top. Once they encounter the second Bill cannon, standing on a single block, near the floating grass, the player just need to jump over it and hold to the right, they should safely land into that secret zone. However, the player will need to drop down into the pitfall to restart the level. No worries though, the Green Jumpin' Lui seen at the beginning will respawn.

It's best to move as fast as possible in this level, until they reach checkpoint. Past that point, around 75% of the level is completed, however the following part of the level is time-consuming. This is where the newly introduced Silver Hammer Turtle will appear on screen. The player need to wait for the first turtle to smash the tall brick wall so they can pass. It's recommended to get close to the wall to trigger the turtle's action, then to stay away from the wall after launching a hammer. These hammers can be thrown in a very aggressive way, and since they bounce 2 times before knocking itself out, chances are Mario can get hit if they're too close.

Trivia

  • This is the only level in Mario Forever that features a big level with scroll locks, meaning that the scrolling will change depending on the player's position, making some parts of the level unreachable.
