Mario Forever Revival is a Mario Forever-styled fangame developed by Crist1919. Unlike previous projects this game focuses more on staying faithful to the original Mario Forever design, while bringing some new elements, akin to Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. Storywise, the game is set right after the ending of Buziol Games' Mario Forever.

Development

The idea of the game was first hinted on April 1st, 2024 during April Fools video. In said video, World 1 was previewed, although it had no castle destruction cutscene. From that point on, each world was slowly developed. First beta was released within Forever Team on September 15th, 2024 and it contained Worlds 1 to 4 in pretty much same state as it could be seen in final release. Second demo containing Worlds 5 to 8 was shared on November 12th, 2024. Final demo including missing castle destruction cutscenes, as well as the story intro and outro cutscenes was distributed on November 28th, 2024. In terms of level design, all levels remained pretty close to what could be observed in their initial release.
