Mario Forever: Hardcore Dystopia (erroneously called Distopia until v2.0) is a game developed by TheMarioVariable. This game is a kind of homage to Mario Forever: Advance Editon. The game features 5 worlds, with 4 levels each.
Development
This game was initially made with MMF, the same program used by Buziol Games when he developed early versions of Mario Forever, and the original marioforevereditorv1.cca engine bundled with the original Mario Worker. Since the author needed to heavily fix the engine, he required some time in order to start to build the first levels. Hardcore World 1 is actually a remake of the authors' original first Hardcore World 1, made with Mario Worker 1.0 in mid-2010[1].
As of version 2.0, the game has been rebuilt with Feather Engine on Clickteam Fusion 2.5.
Frustration Mode
Added in version 2.0 of the game, Frustration Mode is an even more advanced version of the game, where all levels lack Check-points and timer is halved, making level completion more complex. Some levels feature Clocks in order to extend time by 50 in-game seconds due to their length or difficulty, but not making the easier otherwise. The mode is accessible by hitting a Skull Block in the Save Game Room.
