Trivia

  • This world features a bunch of custom enemies that were not available in the original Mario Forever. A good example is Evil Lakitu.
  • World 9 was first released as four single levels. The initial release of 9-1 was on August 19, 2012[1], and an updated version for those levels was released on February 9, 2013[2].
  • As a matter of fact, the source project of Syzxchulun's World 9 was sent to Softendo, who arranged it in the original Mario Forever, and changed the design and difficulty of the levels. However, the arrangement and modification also resulted in various bugs appearing in the levels, with the most notable level-end bug that softlocks the game after completing a level. As a result, in v6.0, since 9-1 was the only level that is normally accessible via a pipe in the save room, players had to complete the Human Laboratory World to access 9-2, while 9-3 and 9-4 could be only accessed by modifying the "mafosav.ini" file. In v7.02 and above, however, the level-end bug was fixed, which allows the other levels of World 9 to be accessed after completing previous one, though accessing 9-2 after completing Human Laboratory World is still possible in v7.02.
    • In Mario Forever Remake's World 9 of Softendo Edition, all of these bugs were fixed, making it much more playable.
  • This is the only Syzxchulun world that does not contain any Bowser in it.
